The New Hub

Nelson's youth centre offers a friendly space for young people aged 11-18 to meet and relax with pool table, basketball, table-tennis, workshops and skateboarding. The youth lounge and cafè has great food, with board-games, magazines and books.

Open after school 3pm - 6pm, weekends 12pm - 5pm, and during school holidays 12pm - 6pm. 23 New Street.

Youth Parks

Pioneers Park and Annesbrook in Nelson have youth parks with mega swings, rocktopus and dippy discs. Tasman youth facilities include the Motueka Recreation Centre.

Skate Parks

Nelson’s newest skate park at Neale Park with ramps and rail-slides to challenge you! Access off the Atawhai Cycleway or Sovereign Street. Or show your skills at the Paru Paru Road skate park or the beginners’ ramp at the New Hub. The Richmond Skate Park is located at Jubilee Park.

Adventure

Happy Valley Adventures for 4-wheel bikes, the Argo and the Skywire.

Natureland

Let the kids get close to exotics and NZ natives, birds, farm animals, and fish. Tahunanui Beach. Open: 9am - 4pm daily. Adults $5, Children $3.50.

Fun at Tahunanui Beach

Playgrounds, roller skating, hydroslide and Bumpa Boats, Super Slide, barbecue and recreation area, BMX, plus mini indie carts, model railway, mini golf, youth barbecue plus sun, sand and wavelets.

Founders Heritage Park

Historic park with playground, historic displays, train rides and cafè, 87 Atawhai Drive.

Broadgreen Historic House
