Nelson Tasman Settlement Support

A Partnership between Department of Labour and Nelson City Council

Libraries

The Elma Turner Library in the central city is a modern facility with an internal garden, activities room and computer suite. The Stoke Library and Nightingale Library Memorial in Tahunanui serve the suburban areas. Each of Tasman’s four main centres - Richmond, Motueka, Murchison and Takaka – has a library.

Joining the libraries

You can join libraries for free. You will need to bring in two forms of valid identification, one must have photo identification such as a driver licence, passport or bank card and one must have recent proof of address.

In August 2008 reciprocal use of both Council libraries became policy, waiving joining charges for all residents of Nelson and Tasman.

Internet access

All libraries in the region offer access to the internet for which there is no charge. Elma Turner Library has free wireless access.
