Nelson Hospital

Nelson Hospital is an acute regional base hospital offering emergency, medical, surgical, obstetric, maternity, child health, and oral health services. Community hospitals are located in Motueka, Murchison and Takaka.

Nelson Hospital is a facility of the Nelson Marlborough District Health Board, or NMDHB. NMDHB both funds and provides health services in Nelson and Marlborough. As the provider of health services, NMDHB provides an extensive range of services and manages patient facilities that extend across the top of the South Island. Services provided in this district are:

Manuka Street Hospital

Manuka Street Hospital provides a range of surgical procedures. It is a private facility operating under a Charitable Trust Deed for the people of Nelson. Surgical procedures are conducted for both privately funded patients and those having procedures conducted through medical insurance.
